I May: Mid Laner

Biography

Athena is one of the best known players on the rookie squad of I May, thanks to his time on Korean team ESC Ever. After the 2015 World Championship, Ever made a mark by beating SKTelecom T1 2-0 at the 2015 LoL KeSPA Cup, ultimately taking the entire championship with a 3-0 victory over CJ Entus. Since that initial success, Athena fell out of the spotlight. Some fans saw him as Pawn’s substitute more than a player in his own right. But then he joined I MAY.

Athena was a key contributor to the team’s meteoric rise from the LSPL to the World Championship in one Split. He is best known for his contributions from the back lines, throwing out spells on poke champions rather than heading into the fray on assassins or tanky picks. Athena will be looking to prove that he’s a mid laner worth watching in his own right, not just a face stuck in Pawn’s shadow. As one of the team’s veterans, he knows how tough the struggle will be -- but he’s also prepared, and ready to prove his worth on the world stage.
