Hoseong “Duke” Lee has been part of the Korean scene since 2013. Originally playing under the name “Leopard,” he changed his name to Duke after joining NaJin Black Sword. After the NaJin merger, Duke became the starting top laner for the newly formed NaJin e-mFire. While the team's results were a mixed bag, Duke was viewed as one of the best top laners in Korea, and following more middling results, Duke left the NaJin organization in late 2015.
Soon after his departure from NaJin, SK Telecom turned to Duke to fill the shoes of one of the greatest top laners in 2015, MaRin, after he departed to play in China. While Duke and company struggled in early 2016, they found their footing and ended up taking home the 2016 LCK Spring Split trophy. Even with SK Telecom’s early exit in the 2016 LCK Summer Split playoffs, hopes are still sky-high heading into Worlds. With his reserved nature Duke would never tell you this, but he’s one of the most exciting top lane prospects in Korea.
