EU LCS 2017 Explained

The start of the 2017 EU LCS Spring Split is just over a week away, so here’s a little refresher on the new format and a first look at the new EU LCS groups.

As announced in our 2017 EU LCS format article, we’ve split the teams into 2 groups for a conference-style format. These groups were decided on Saturday January 7 at the Berlin Studio. Head Coaches from all 10 teams came together with Riot officials to determine the draft. G2 Esports were the first to pick and they picked a team to go into the opposing group. H2K then picked a team to go into G2’s group and the draft continued until each team had been picked. With the rosters locked and groups determined, teams are busy preparing for the start of what is looking to be one exciting Spring Split.

Check out the video for a closer look at the new format and the groups for spring, and stay tuned for an upcoming video where we take a deep dive with Head Coaches on their picks, as well as the EU LCS 2017 Season intro video which will be coming soon!
