Wait, why are Rift Rivals going back to North America?

We know it may be a surprise to some of our fans who were hoping for it to return to Berlin so we wanted to share some context on why the event will be returning North America.

The LEC team is focused on delivering an awesome Summer Split, Summer Finals, and preparing to host the 2019 World Championship in Europe. Since hosting Worlds 2019 is a big responsibility with a lot of work falling on the host region, the EU team requested for NA to host Rift Rivals again this year. Keep your eyes on Lolesports for more information about where we’ll be visiting across Europe for Worlds 2019.

Since the EU players will need to travel to Los Angeles for the event, LEC will take a break the week after Rift Rivals to minimize the impact on the traveling players during the competitive season.
