Etienne “Steve” Michels launched his career with ROCCAT during the 2015 EU LCS Summer Preseason, replacing Overpow as their starting top laner. Steve brought several years of amateur experience, but he was still an EU LCS rookie and had the inconsistent play to prove it. In 2016, Steve and Schalke were huge underdogs heading into the Spring Split. Their play was enough to hang onto 7th place and re-qualify for the Summer Split.
Steve has always been a crowd favorite though, making a name for himself as a great split pusher and all-around team player. This split will be a test to find out just where Steve lies in Europe’s sea of talent. Schalke has remained largely the same, paving the way for Steve to make this Split a proving grounds for himself. Let there be no doubt, the chants of “Steeeeeeeeeeeeve!” will still be heard around the world, let’s just hope he answers the call.
