As one of the greatest Western mid laners to ever play the game, Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño Martínez's departure from Fnatic left fans all over the world bemoaning the end of an era. The man bled orange and black for nearly four years, and was instrumental in Fnatic's win at the Season 1 World Championship, as well three EU LCS titles.
For xPeke, Origen literally meant a new beginning. That was his goal when he founded the team in late 2014. Acting as the team's owner and starting mid laner, xPeke assembled his perfect roster. Origen proceeded to blaze through the 2015 EU Challenger Series Spring Split and into the EU LCS. While the team had initial success, their performance in the 2016 EU LCS Summer Split left much to be desired as the team struggled to find an identity.
xPeke spent the majority of the Summer Split as a fill-in AD Carry, and the fans realized that this made him the clear choice to represent Europe as their premier mid laner. It’s no secret that xPeke is the proud owner of some of the greatest plays in competitive League of Legends history, and they were enough to propel him onto the All-Star stage in Barcelona. If he gets to roam the Rift on a playmaking champion like Kassadin, no champion or Nexus will be safe from the void walker.
